Saroya AI — Child Safety Standards

Version 1.0 — Last updated 15-06-26

These Child Safety Standards (the "Standards") describe how Saroya AI, operated by JLTC AI Technologies Pvt. Ltd. ("JLTC", "the Platform", "we", "us" or "our"), prevents, detects and responds to child sexual abuse and exploitation. They apply across every surface on which Saroya AI is made available — web (saroya.ai), iOS, Android, web-embed, Discord and WhatsApp — and to every person who uses the Platform, whether as a Creator, a User, a paying subscriber or a visitor.

These Standards should be read together with our Terms of Use, Privacy Policy and Creator Agreement. Where any of those documents addresses child safety, these Standards prevail on that subject.

1. Our Commitment

JLTC has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation ("CSAE"), child sexual abuse material ("CSAM"), grooming, sextortion, and any other content, conduct or use of the Platform that sexualises, exploits, endangers or targets a child.

We are committed to:

  • Building and operating Saroya AI so that it is hostile to anyone who would use it to harm children.
  • Prohibiting minors from using the Platform at all — Saroya AI is a strictly adults-only (18+) service.
  • Detecting and removing CSAE content and conduct when we become aware of it.
  • Reporting CSAM and child safety violations to the appropriate authorities, and cooperating with law enforcement.
  • Continuously improving our safeguards, technology and processes as threats and best practice evolve.

These Standards are not optional guidelines. They are enforced through our technology, our moderation processes and our account-enforcement actions.

2. Definitions

For the purposes of these Standards:

  • Child / Minor means any person under the age of 18 years, consistent with the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012 (the "POCSO Act") and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
  • Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation (CSAE) means any act, content, conduct or communication that sexually abuses, exploits or endangers a child. This includes (without limitation) producing, soliciting, possessing, accessing, sharing or distributing CSAM; grooming; sextortion; the sexualisation of minors; and the facilitation of, or attempt at, any of these.
  • Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM) means any visual, audio, textual or AI-generated material that depicts, describes or simulates a child engaged in real or simulated sexually explicit conduct, or that depicts the sexual parts of a child for primarily sexual purposes. This expressly includes computer-generated, animated, "cartoon", and AI-generated or AI-altered material (including deepfakes), regardless of whether a real child was involved in its creation.
  • Grooming means any pattern of behaviour intended to build a relationship, trust or emotional connection with a child in order to lower the child's inhibitions for the purpose of sexual abuse or exploitation.
  • Sextortion means threatening to share intimate or sexual content of a person in order to extort sexual content, money, or other benefit, where the victim is, or is represented to be, a child.

3. Prohibited Conduct and Content

You may not use Saroya AI — including any Persona, Digital Mind, chat, upload, Creator Content, profile, message or other feature — to create, upload, store, generate, request, solicit, promote, link to, share, distribute or facilitate any of the following:

  1. CSAM in any form, including real, simulated, animated, computer-generated, AI-generated or AI-altered material (including deepfakes).
  2. Sexualisation of minors, including sexualised descriptions, role-play, prompts, or imagery involving children, and any content that depicts a minor in a sexualised manner.
  3. Grooming or sextortion of a child, or any communication that seeks to sexualise, groom, or sexually extort a child.
  4. Solicitation — requesting, offering, advertising or attempting to obtain CSAM, sexual contact with a child, or access to a child for sexual purposes.
  5. Trafficking or endangerment of children, including content that facilitates the abduction, trafficking, or physical or sexual endangerment of a child.
  6. Misuse of AI features to generate, simulate or "jailbreak" a Persona or any AI model into producing any of the content described above.
  7. Circumvention — using the Platform while under 18, misrepresenting your age, or assisting a minor to access the Platform.

This list is illustrative, not exhaustive. Any content or conduct that exploits or endangers a child is prohibited, whether or not it is specifically listed above.

4. How We Prevent Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation

4.1 Strictly adults-only (18+)

Saroya AI is intended exclusively for adults. We do not knowingly allow anyone under 18 to register, build or operate a Persona, chat with a Persona, or transact on the Platform. We enforce this by:

  • Collecting date of birth at registration and using it to confirm that a user is 18 or older, and declining or removing accounts where the stated age is below 18.
  • Requiring Creators to complete identity verification (KYC) against a government-issued identity document (Aadhaar, PAN, passport or driving licence), from which date of birth is confirmed — providing a further age check.
  • Applying additional verification or removing access where we have reason to doubt that a user meets the age requirement.

4.2 Automated chat moderation

Messages sent to Personas in chat are screened by automated content moderation — a combination of rule-based filtering and, where applicable, a third-party moderation service whose detection categories include sexual content involving minors. Content that is flagged is blocked or rejected, and the violation is logged.

4.3 Persona safety configuration

Personas are AI software characters operated within safety instructions. They are configured not to generate child sexual abuse material or sexual content involving minors under any circumstances.

4.4 Creator accountability

Creators are identity-verified and are contractually bound, through the Creator Agreement, to comply with these Standards and applicable law. Creators are responsible for the Content they upload to train a Digital Mind and warrant that it is lawful and does not contain material that exploits or endangers children.

4.5 Logging

We maintain moderation logging that records flagged violations and supports the investigation of reports and, where lawfully required, the preservation of relevant information.

5. Reporting Child Safety Concerns

We encourage anyone who becomes aware of child safety concerns, illegal content, abuse, harassment or exploitation on Saroya AI to report it to us immediately.

  • Child safety contact: Report child safety concerns directly to our child-safety point of contact at [email protected].
  • Support and grievance channels: You can also reach our support and grievance channels for any safety, abuse, harassment or exploitation concern.

If you believe a child is in immediate danger, please contact your local law-enforcement authority or emergency services first. In India, child sexual abuse material and related offences can also be reported to the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal at cybercrime.gov.in and through the national child helpline.

6. How We Respond

When JLTC becomes aware of CSAM or a violation of these Standards — whether through a user report, automated detection, or notice from a third party or authority — we take appropriate action, which may include:

  • Content removal — removing the offending content, Persona or material from the Platform.
  • Account enforcement — suspending or permanently banning the accounts involved, and blocking the responsible users from the Platform.
  • Preservation — preserving relevant content, account information and metadata where this is required by law or necessary to support an investigation.
  • Reporting to authorities — reporting CSAM and child safety violations to the appropriate law-enforcement and child-protection authorities, including in India through the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal (cybercrime.gov.in).
  • Cooperation — cooperating with law-enforcement and child-safety authorities and responding to lawful requests and orders.

7. Legal Compliance

We operate Saroya AI in accordance with applicable child-safety laws, including in particular:

  • The Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012 (POCSO Act), including its provisions on the use of children for pornographic purposes and the storage and transmission of CSAM, and its reporting obligations.
  • The Information Technology Act, 2000, including Section 67B (publishing or transmitting material depicting children in sexually explicit acts in electronic form), and the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021, including our obligation not to host CSAM and to remove such material expeditiously on actual knowledge or on a valid order.
  • The Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023 and other applicable criminal law to the extent it addresses offences against children.
  • The Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, under which the Platform is operated on a strictly adults-only basis so that we do not knowingly process the personal data of children.
